Angelica Delgado

2025 Guest Angelica Delgado

Angelica Delgado is a three-time Team USA Olympian and is currently ranked 21st in the world at -52kg. She will join us this summer and share her insight and experience as our 2025 guest instructor at IJC!

Angelica credits her father, Miguel Delgado, as the most influential person in her judo career. Miguel Delgado fled Cuba in the 1980s in search of political and religious freedom and made his way to Miami where he counted his old Judo gi as one of the few possessions he took with him to America. Angelica’s father was on the Cuban National Team for judo and began teaching her in the backyard at age 9. Since then, Angelica has had an impressive record of world competition, representing the United States at the 2016, 2020, and most recently the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

  • Olympic Games Paris 2024 – 9th (-52kg)
  • Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – 9th (-52kg)
  • Olympic Games Rio 2016 – 17th (-52kg)
