Angelica Delgado

Angelica Delgado

Angelica Delgado is a three-time Team USA Olympian and is currently ranked 21st in the world at -52kg. She will join us this summer and share her insight and experience as our 2025 guest instructor at IJC!

Angelica credits her father, Miguel Delgado, as the most influential person in her judo career. Miguel Delgado fled Cuba in the 1980s in search of political and religious freedom and made his way to Miami where he counted his old Judo gi as one of the few possessions he took with him to America. Angelica’s father was on the Cuban National Team for judo and began teaching her in the backyard at age 9. Since then, Angelica has had an impressive record of world competition, representing the United States at the 2016, 2020, and most recently the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Kostiatyn

Kostiantyn Tskhovrebashvili

Kostiantyn is a Godan (5th degree Black belt) with a Masters Degree in Physical Education. He has trained over 100 Regional and National Ukrainian Champions. With his dynamic and interactive judo style, he will coach an energetic and challenging competition class each day!

Kata Class

Heiko Rommelmann Jr.

Heiko is a Rokudan (6th degree Black belt) in judo and a Godan (5th degree Black belt) in jujutsu. With his decades of training experience, 19 over-all National Championship golds, 8 Pan-Am golds, 1 World Masters gold and 8 x representing the US at the World Kata Championships, Heiko will lead the campers through a selected Kata during the week.

Coaching Class

Boris Muñoz

Boris Munoz is a 5th degree black belt (Godan) in Judo. He currently coaches the NYU Judo team (2024 -2025 school year) along with Sensei Devin Cohen. Sensei Boris Munoz is a Continental Referee, where he referees at high level Judo events in the US, Pan Americans and European countries. He is a graduate of the IJF Academy Undergraduate Program for Judo Coaches. He is a USA Judo International Coach.

Referee Class

Devin Cohen

Want to hit the Judo tournament circuit soon as a referee? Class will be taught by an International Judo Federation “A” referee, who offers an environment that’s great for new referees to learn it all and experienced referees to brush up on new rules and hone skills. On Friday, the last day of camp, there will be a camp tournament. This will give Referee students a chance to test what they’ve learned while they complete the requirement for certification.

Campground

Participants will stay on site at Camp Echo with full access to the campgrounds which include a private lake, swimming pool, and 200+ acres of fields and wooded trails fit for hiking, fishing, and relaxation. Adults will be housed in semi-private or private rooms depending on availability.

Youth

Dedicated IJC counselors will supervise youth participants under 18 in youth cabins. In addition to mentorship for young judoka, IJC staff will will lead activities throughout the week such as a scavenger hunt, fishing derby, ninja room and so much more!

Meals

Three quality meals served buffet style will be provided by Camp Echo staff in the dining hall during predesignated meal times throughout the week. Additional snacks and beverages are welcome, though meals will be provided!
